About Our Films

The Any Old Port Tent of Jacksonville Florida, has an extensive collection of films. As a matter of fact, we have one of the largest privately owned collections, screened to the public, in the state of Florida. We have films from as far back as 1910 through 1959. Films ranging from comedy to drama to cartoons to newsreels and more.

While our collection is extensive, we are always looking to add to our collection. Even if we come across a movie that may already be in our collection. If there is undeleted footage in it or even if the newer movie is clearer, we will add it. Our goal is to offer the best quality, original film footage available.

Our films span many decades. Many things happened in our country and to our culture during this time. Two World Wars, Civil Rights, Woman’s Lib and more. The motion picture industry usually reflected the times, by including the fads or trends in their films.

Some things that were social-ably acceptable during those times, may not be today. Just like some things that are social-ably acceptable today, would not have been social-ably acceptable during those times. Every society has a ever revolving set of acceptances that are always changing.

While there was no rating system in place back then, most of our films would have been rated "G." Please, be aware! Some people may feel uncomfortable with some of the subject matter in these films. We present these films un-edited, when available, as a part of our heritage.

Some of the films may depict people dressed in black face or depict black people as being lazy or even making comments such as "Those no good Japs" or others. These films are not shown to ridicule, embarrass, harass, provoke or threaten any person, persons, religions, races, nationalities or anyone else.

We can not learn from our mistakes,
unless we know what they are.
